Mariachi Garibaldi:
Mariachi band music is considered the quintessential Mexican folk-derived ensemble music. Its distinctive sound featuring trumpet, violin, guitarron, and vocals has become symbolic of Mexican music and culture. The four members of Mariachi Band Garibaldi have many years of experience as entertainers. Jose Hernandez founded MBG in 1986 in New York, after moving to the United States from Guadalajara. The band was subsequently headquarted in Miami, and from 1988 until 1997, in Atlanta. Since moving to Montgomery, the band has increased its strong following among the Mexican-American community of the Southeast. Mariachi Band Garibaldi performances include music from throughout Mexico as well as explanations of the traditional dress, musical style and instrumentation of Mariachi music. They are well suited to acoustic or amplified settings, including festivals, restaurants, parties, schools, and university concerts.

Kathryn Tucker Windham:

Kathryn Tucker Windham is a master storyteller, author of twenty-four books, playwright, accomplished photographer, and popular public television and radio personality. Her National Public Radio segments for "All Things Considered" have won her national acclaim. Born in Selma on June 2, 1918, to James Wilson Tucker and Helen Tabb Tucker, Mrs. Windham spent her childhood in Thomasville, and attended public schools there. Mrs. Windham earned a B.A. degree from Huntingdon College in 1939. In 1940, she went to work as a reporter for the Alabama Journal, breaking barriers in the newspaper industry by being one of the first female reporters (perhaps the very first) to cover the police beat for a major daily newspaper in the South. She was one of thirteen Alabama artists selected by the Alabama State Council for the Arts to represent Alabama in France and Monaco in 2000.

The Tribe of Judah:
Founded in October of 1997, the Tribe of Judah is a visible student organization on the campus of Alabama State University. The focus of the ministry is to witness Jesus Christ to students, surrounding cities and the nation. The Tribe of Judah is comprised of approximately 45 soldiers who are committed and dedicated to praising the Lord through singing, stepping/dancing and drama/poetry.
The Tribes’ Choir performance includes various genres from contemporary gospel to soul stirring, inspirational hymnals. Rehearsing twice weekly ensures a thorough blending of vocal harmonies from the group. These intense practices further equip the members to execute with precision and accuracy the choreographed movements of their shows. The tremendous dedication to spread God’s word keeps the choir lively and sincere when it is time to perform.
