The Rural Touring School Program
The Rural School Touring Program is an initiative by the Council's Arts in Education Program and Performing Arts Program to provide opportunities for rural schools to book a performance by an Alabama group or artist. These in-school performances include study guides and other curriculum related materials. There is no charge to the school for these performances; however, bookings are limited and are primarily intended for rural schools with little or no prior experience in providing live performance opportunities for their students. During its first eleven years, the program has provided performances for over 225,017 students with 50% of those students seeing a live performance for the first time.

To learn how your school can participate in this program, contact the Arts in Education Program Manager. Email: diana.green@arts.alabama.gov
