Revised Deadlines and Policies
The total number of applications that may be submitted per deadline and per year has changed
Requests in excess of $10,000 are generally unrealistic to current funding capabilities A system of rolling deadlines is in place for each fiscal year. Applications must be received according to the following schedule to be eligible for final review by the Council meeting dates. Applications will not be considered by the Council until they are complete and meet eligibility requirements. An unfunded application may be resubmitted and reconsidered once within the same fiscal year. An organization may submit no more than two (2) applications per deadline and a maximum of four (4) in a single year. Organizations receiving operating support may not submit more than two (2) applications per deadline or more than three (3) per year including the operating support request.
Applications for activities in these periods March 1, 2010 Art & Cultural Facilities and Fellowship applications to 10/1/10 - 9/30/2011 be approved at June Council meeting (Please consult the Art & Cultural Facilities Guidelines for deadlines related to large planning, design and construction projects.
June 1, 2010 Operating Support, Program Development, Project and 10/1/10 - 9/30/2011 Presenter applications and all requests to be approved at September Council meeting.
Sept. 1, 2010 Folk Arts Apprenticeships, Project and Presenter, 1/1/11 - 9/30/2011 Partnership and Residency applications, and all requests to be approved at September Council meeting Any organization acting as a fiscal agent for an artist project or a group without non-profit status will not have that application count against the total request limit for a given deadline or the maximum for the year. GRANTEE agrees to include in all promotional materials, press releases, publicity, advertisements and printed programs, the following statement: This program/project has been made possible by grants from the Alabama State Council on the Arts and the National Endowment for the Arts.
GRANTEE agrees to credit the COUNCIL in a prominent place and in a size no smaller than that used for other credits and contributions. GRANTEE agrees to supply copies of all such materials with the final report of grant expenditures. When no printed materials or programs are used, GRANTEE agrees to give verbal credit to the COUNCIL prior to each event.
