Literary Arts

This grant program supports projects and activities that serve to increase public awareness and exposure to literature and the state’s literary heritage and to support contemporary Alabama poets and writers of fiction, creative non-fiction and other literary genres. Projects and activities may include literary festivals, conferences or other gatherings, publications and community readings involving local writers. Education and outreach projects are priorities. Governmental and non-profit organizations are eligible to apply.

Also under this grant program cash awards made to individual artists in the literary arts based on merit of work, career achievement, career potential and service to the state.
